Eric Brooks

Eric S. Brooks passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the James West Hospice Center in Fort Worth, TX, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Funeral service will take place 10 a.m.,  Saturday, March 6, 2011  at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, Il. Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m., with Pastor Gregg Headley officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the James West Hospice Center of Ft. Worth, TX or Christ for the Nations Institute of Dallas, TX. Eric was born September 17, 1966 in Paris, Illinois. He married Becky Morgan on June 10, 1995 in Marshall, Illinois. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a graduate of Christ for the Nations Institute where he obtained a pastors license in Youth Ministry. He was a member of The Gospel Lighthouse Church in Dallas, TX. Eric enjoyed traveling, sports and hanging out with friends. One of Eric's most treasured and enjoyable times was traveling to Walt Disney World with his family. Eric was preceded in death by one son, Gannon Brooks; grandparents, Bob and Elsie Kirbie and  Frederick and Hazel Brooks. Survivors, Wife, Becky Brooks; son, Gunnar Brooks; mother, Cheryl Brooks, of Paris, IL; father and step-mother, Howard and Diane Brooks, of Chandler, AZ; sisters, Christine Hackney, of Frisco, TX, and Sherri Russell, of Plano, TX.
