Ervin Tabor

KENNEDALE -- Ervin George Tabor Sr., the most beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, left this earth peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Ervin George Tabor Sr. to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org/northcentraltexas or Alzheimer's Association, North Central Texas Chapter, 101 Summit Ave., Suite 300, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. George was born Sept. 21, 1924. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired after 30 years working for American Manufacturing in Fort Worth. George was a man of great faith, character and integrity. He served the Lord faithfully every Sunday for over 40 years at New Hope Baptist Church in Mansfield. We are deeply saddened of the passing of George. He loved nature and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where he endured the long haul trip for 28 years to enjoy the finest camping and fishing the state had to offer. His smile and energetic pursuits of good times will be missed. He was a loving, kind and proud family man with a gentle soul and loving spirit who will be missed immensely by all his family and friends. His family greatly appreciates the compassionate care of doctors, nurses and staff at Wedgewood Nursing Home as well as Mission Hospice. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, three brothers and five sisters. Survivors: His beloved wife of 59 years, Geraldine "Jerry" Tabor; daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Taylor and husband, Eddie; son, Ervin George Tabor Jr. and wife, Leslie; grandchildren, Jennifer McIntire (Gavin), Jonathan Taylor (Misty), Hollie Tabor, Paige Tabor and Garrett Tabor; and great-grandchildren, Byron and Cole McIntire and Colton Taylor.
