RICHLAND HILLS -- Estelle Halbert Plowman Jowers, 97 years young, beloved mother to five generations of children, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 6, 2011, to be with her Lord our Father in heaven. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Richland Hills Baptist Church. Interment: Cedar Hill Cemetery, Abilene. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Estelle was born Aug. 8, 1913, in Walnut Springs to Noah Carl and Minnie Reed Halbert. The family moved to Abilene and she graduated from Abilene High in 1931. She was married to Clifton Deward Plowman on July 6, 1935 for 34 years. She married Erwin Jowers on Oct 14, 1980. Estelle was active all of her 97 years. She was active in her church and community, and she also was a volunteer at North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husbands, Clifton Plowman and Erwin Jowers; son, James Deward Plowman; one sister; and three brothers. The family would like to express thanks to the caregivers at Universal Hospice. Survivors: Sons, Donald Carl Plowman and Jerry Wayne and wife, Donna Plowman; six grandchildren; eight grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Virginia Bulter of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
