FORT WORTH -- Marie Brown Williams, 81, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2009. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday in Blessing Colonial Chapel, Mansfield. Interment: Private. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Blessing Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal shelter of choice. Marie was born and raised in Britton, just a few miles east of Mansfield. Her parents were Cecil Brown and Maude Turner Brown. Marie attended Mansfield schools and Texas Christian University. She worked in design engineering groups at General Dynamics for more than 40 years and retired in 1992. She loved her work and all of her professional co-workers. They were engineers, scientists, mathematicians, etc., and they were from many interesting places. Marie loved domesticated animals, especially small and midsized dogs. Cats were OK, as long as they were well-fed and not interested in hunting birds. She would have been 82 on Jan. 28. Now she can celebrate that birthday and an eternity of days and birthdays in heaven with our Lord and Savior. Survivors: Her husband of 57 years, Jack, whom she met at General Dynamics; sisters and brother, JoAnn, Cecile, Linda, Barbara, Carron and Kenneth; and many nieces and nephews.
