FORT WORTH -- Evelyn Moore Dennis, our "Belle Mere," a longtime Fort Worth resident, departed earthly life Tuesday evening, Jan. 13, 2009. ?????? Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper. The Rev. Carey Reynolds will officiate. Visitation: She will lie in state Friday in the Great Room at the funeral home; her family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. ?????? Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Dennis' family suggests consideration of contributions to the Evelyn Dennis Scholarship Fund at Delta Gamma Alumnae Organization or to the Humane Society of North Texas. ?????? Born in Hugo, Okla., raised in Amory, Miss., and educated at Bellhaven College and Ole Miss, Evelyn raised her family and established a large community of friends in Fort Worth. ?????? Evelyn was active in many organizations, including the Mockingbird Garden Club, Delta Gamma Alumnae Organization and Petra Baptist Church. ?????? She was truly God's child in spirit, kindness and generosity. Her love and humor lit up the lives of her family and all she touched. We are all grateful she was a part of our lives and will miss her dearly. ?????? Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Hallie and Nettie Malinda Moore; and her brother, Robert Hallie Moore Jr. ?????? Survivors: Her survivors include her daughters, Kerry Dennis Killpack and Steve, Kate Dennis and Jenny Dennis and Don Jancosek; her grandchildren, William, Bradley and Jamie Killpack and Matt and Jill Jancosek; several great-grandchildrfen; her beloved caregiver, Brenda Evans; sister-in-law, Ann Reynolds Moore; nephews, Robert Hallie Moore III and his wife, Holly, and Phillip Baxter Moore; nieces, Ouida Smith Horowitz and her family, Merle Smith and Linda and John Sietstra; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of cherished, lifelong friends.
