Ewell Johnson

MANSFIELD -- Ewell Samuel Johnson Jr., 86, passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, in Mansfield.        Funeral: 10 a.m.Tuesday at Blessing Colonial Chapel, Mansfield. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.        Ewell was born April 5, 1925, in Floydada, the son of Ewell Johnson Sr. and Eunice Steen Johnson. He married Veleta Faughne Sparks on April 15, 1945, in Floydada. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II.        Ewell was preceded in death by his wife, Veleta.        Survivors: Children, Larry Thomas Johnson and wife, Jerri Jean, Linda Marie Johnson Bennett and husband, Gary Douglas; grandchildren, Lynlie Johnson Brown, T.J. Johnson, Dustin Douglas Bennett and wife, Brandi, Danuewel Lyne Bennett; great-grandchildren, Chance Lyne Bennett, Breanna Page Bennett, Brooklynn Marie Bennett, Bailey Marie Henderschedt; four-legged child, Chigger.
