Florence Boyd

Florence was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Lakin, Kan. She grew up in a farming community where she was surrounded by a loving family, strong work ethic and a deep faith in God. She met Sidney in Garden City, Kan., and they were married Dec. 22, 1956. She was a resident of Hurst for 40 years.        She faithfully served First United Methodist Church of Hurst, where she enjoyed teaching children's Sunday school for 10 years and attended the Searching Together Class. Her favorite things included traveling, gardening, spending time with family and having long conversations with friends.        Her smile was so warm and genuine that you couldn't help but smile when you were with her. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.        She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Helen Kysar; sister, Marge Eskelund; and son, Brian Boyd.        Survivors: Husband of 52 years, Sidney; daughter, Denise Miller and husband, Sterling; grandchildren, Meagan and Trent; sister, Dorothy Jenks and husband, Glen; brother, Kenny Kysar and wife, Bonnie; brother-in-law, Dick Eskelund; brother-in-law, Berry Boyd and wife, Geneva; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials: Friends who desire are respectfully invited to honor her memory with memorial gifts in Florence's name to First United Methodist Church of Hurst or Community Hospice of Texas.
