Florence Evans

MANSFIELD -- Florence McRimmon Evans, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, in Mansfield. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Hospice or American Cancer Society. Florence was born March 17, 1917, in Shreveport, La. She was a well-known tap and ballroom dancing teacher in El Paso. She served as the chairman for the "Grey Ladies" at William Beaumont General Hospital. Florence was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ken Burdick of Denton. Survivors: Her husband, John; daughters, Pat Burdick of Denton and Vicki Clarke and her husband, Tom, of Williamsburg, Va.; grandsons, Jeff Burdick and his wife, Heather, and Chris Burdick of Austin; great-grandchildren, Madeline Grace and Michael Scott; and her brother, James McRimmon of El Paso.
