LEAGUE CITY -- Florence May McGrath, 86, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, in Lucas Funeral Chapel, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Dr. Jim Schierling will officiate. Following cremation, she will be inurned in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Florence May, the daughter of Gilbert and Florence Edith Green England, was born April 26, 1922, in Bristol, England. She and Robert McGrath met while he was stationed in Germany during World War II. Following a three-year courtship, they married at the end of the war and spent a lifetime traveling the world. At one time she worked for First National Bank of Euless and was also a local realtor. Survivors: Husband, retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Robert W. McGrath; daughter, Elaine Bell and her husband, Mike; son, Paul McGrath and his wife, Kimberly; grandchildren, Michael Bell Jr., Christopher Bell, Robert McGrath, Kelly McGrath and Kevin McGrath; and great-grandchild, Joshua.
