KELLER -- Marguerite Steward, 85, a loving homemaker, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at a local care center. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday in Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, 137 E. Hill St., Keller. Lawrence Hammond will officiate, assisted by Owen Phillips. Interment: Following a committal service in Bourland Cemetery, Marguerite will be laid to rest with her husband, Lester Steward, who preceded her in death June 26, 2005. Visitation: Marguerite will lie in state Thursday afternoon in Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, with the family receiving friends 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials: Friends who desire are respectfully invited to honor her memory with contributions in her name to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. She and her late husband, Lester, were longtime faithful members of First Baptist Church of Keller. She was a member of Eastern Star for many years. Marguerite loved her family and was loved by her family dearly. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Forgy. Survivors: She will be missed by her sons, Phil Steward and wife, Susie, and Jerry Steward and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Bryan, Jeff, Scott, Keri, Kim and Alicia; son-in-law, Jesse Forge; and other extended family.
