Florene Stevens

FORT WORTH -- Florene Nimmo Stevens, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 surrounded by her family. GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Olivet cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania. Florene was born August 16, 1924, in Cresson, Texas to Harvey Pringle and Jimmie Ruth Nimmo. She graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High School. She married Thomas Evans Stevens in 1947 and spent much of married life accompanying her husband to numerous air bases due to his Air Force career, including Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, Montana, Louisiana and France. Although she suffered several disabilities throughout her life she was always cheerful and had a smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Hershel Thomas Stevens. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Dianne Hofsteter; son, Victor Stevens and his wife Gloria; sisters, Mildred Nimmo Lucas and Patsy Nimmo Riddle and her husband George, grandchildren, Kimberly Hofsteter, Angel Bogart, Victor Stevens, Daniel Stevens, Shelby Driver (Nathan),Bruce Stevens (Deana), Rachel Stevens and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
