BEDFORD -- Frances Freedman, loving mother and grandmother, died peacefully March 17,2008. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday, First United Methodist Church of Hurst, 521 W. Pipeline Road. The Rev. Dr. Mike McKee will officiate. Burial: Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Houston. Visitation: The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Lucas Hurst Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road. Frances was born December 21, 1917, in San Marcos into a family of five brothers and one sister. Her family moved to Houston when she was two. She lived in Houston until her retirement from Philadelphia Life Insurance Company in 1987. Upon her retirement, she move to Bedford to be near her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Hurst and the Wesley Bible Class. She was also a member of the Oakcrest Women's Club. Her quiet grace, quick wit, caring friendship and strong faith served as an example for many. Survivors: daughter, Georgeann Gallian and her husband David; son, John (Buz) Mauk; grandchildren, Michael Gallian and his wife Elizabeth, Stephanie Greathouse and her husband Tommy, Carrie Mauk, Josh Mauk and his wife Celina, and Holly Mauk; Great-grandchildren Mackenzie Mauk, Peter Greathouse and Sarah Gallian; and former daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Mauk.
