FRANK COHEN

A native of Dallas, Frank Cohen was born Aug. 10, 1913, the son of M.B. and Fannie Shimmer Cohen. His first wife, Helen Markusfeld Cohen, died in 1975. Following her death, Dr. Cohen married Sara Goldpar. The couple recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.  Dr. Cohen was a longtime Fort Worth pediatrician. He was a recipient of the Gold Headed Cane Award for his service and was a former president of the Tarrant County Medical Association. His memberships also included Beth-El Congregation and the B'nai B'rith.  Survivors: Wife of 30 years, Sara Goldgar Cohen; daughter, Susan Cohen Grodsky and her husband, Ron, of Longmeadow, Mass.; son, Burton Cohen and his wife, Cindy Graff Cohen, of El Paso; grandchildren, Jeffrey Grodsky and his wife, Margie, Scott Grodsky and his wife, Michelle, Amy Grodsky Ratner and her husband, Todd, Gregory Cohen and his wife, Mary, and Hally Cohen; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Cohen Goodman and her husband, Harold, of Dallas; extended family, Ansel Goldgar and his wife, Sharon, Susan Goldgar Simons, Merry Goldgar Graves and her husband, Jerry, Rick Goldgar and his wife, Diana, and their families; and friend and helper for 56 years, Melvadean Platt.
