Fred Barney

Fred was a charter member of Oakhurst Presbyterian Church and longtime member of the Lions Club. He was a builder of mission churches and delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years. His first priority was his family. Fred enjoyed playing 42, vacationing in the mountains, fishing, hunting and all other sports. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, William and Maude Barney; brother, William Barney; and sisters, Gladys Jones and Zona Pyron.Survivors: Loving wife of 73 years, Pauline Barney of Fort Worth; son, Fred Barney Jr. and wife, Shirley, of Hurst; daughter, Jan Barney Schuster and husband, Ron, of Weatherford; grandsons, Randy and Scott Schuster and Barry Barney; and great-grandchildren, Julie Kirby, Ryan, Brett and Bailee Schuster.Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Children's Home, Box 100, Itasca, Texas 76055, or Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring Ave., Waco, Texas 76708.
