VENUS -- Glenda Geyer Jackson passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, in Fort Worth. Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Blessing Funeral Home Chapel, 401 Elm St., Mansfield. Interment: Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Blessing Funeral Home. Glenda was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Wichita Falls, the daughter of Everett Byman Geyer and Ophelia Ball. She married David Alan Jackson on April 28, 1981, in Mansfield. Glenda was secretary and bookkeeper for her father and brother's business, Geyer Drilling Co., for 35 years, retiring in 2004. An avid fan of Elvis Presley, Glenda was president of Mansfield's first Elvis fan club. She volunteered for five years at First United Methodist Church Thrift Shop in Mansfield and she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was truly one of a kind. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors: Husband, David Jackson; son, Chad Geyer Speer; sister, Paula Harrison; brother, Robert Geyer and wife, Cydnie; grandchildren, Oden Geyer Speer, Luke Tyler Speer; nieces, Darla Ray, LuAnn Ballard, Renee Ennis; nephew, Scott Harrison; and numerous other family members and friends.
