DALLAS -- Gussie Rebecca Erlichman, 107, a former longtime Fort Worth resident, died peacefully Sunday morning, June 15, 2008. Funeral: Services and interment will be held in New York. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Jonathan's Place or a charity of one's choice, in Gussie's memory, is suggested. Gussie, born Jan. 15, 1901 in New York City, N.Y., was the oldest of six children to Samuel and Fanny Nagler. Until recent years she was an avid seamstress and a great cook. Gussie was loved by her family and many friends including Sarah Flinn, and the staff and residents at Lexington Place on Meadow Road in Dallas. The day before she passed she ate chocolate chip cookies and drank juice with her youngest great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, Gussie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Henry Erlichman; her daughter, Sophie Heller; her son, Ira Erlichman; her son-in-law, Warren Bakal; and her grandson, Steven Bakal. Survivors: Her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jim Manzi; son-in-law, Saul Heller; grandchildren, Larry and Brenda Heller, Michael Heller, of New York, Jeff Heller and Karen Miller of New Jersey, Diane LaBelle and Norman Giradot of Pennsylvania, Ruth Bakal and Michael Cohen of Dallas, Martin Bakal of Arizona, Sue Manzi of California; great-grandchildren, Sarah Heller and Russell Heller of New York, Greg LaBelle-Heller of Pennsylvania, and Wendy Cohen and StacyBeth Cohen of Dallas; sister, Miriam Tinkler of New Jersey; and brother, Morton Nagler of California.
