HALTOM CITY -- Hal Robert "H.R." Copeland Jr., a loving, faithful and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, joined his Savior Jesus Christ in heaven's glory Monday, March 26, 2012, at his home. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Thursday at North Richland Hills Baptist Church, 6955 Boulevard 26, North Richland Hills. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be given to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, Texas 75219, or a charity of choice. H.R. was born Jan. 2, 1922, in Smithfield. He was the son of Hal and Mary Agnes Copeland. H.R. was a longtime resident of Fort Worth and worked as a painting contractor. He was a member of North Richland Hills Baptist Church for 35 years and served as a deacon. He truly enjoyed giving his time and talents to his church. H.R. served his community well and was generous in helping many organizations. He was elected high priest of Texas Masonic Chapter 362 and thrice illustrious master of Texas Council 321. In January, H.R. celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by friends and family. H.R. loved the Lord with all his heart and wanted others to trust and know the joy of the Lord. Special thanks to Meridy Tilley and Eva Sullivan who were Hal's devoted caregivers the past two years and who richly blessed him. Also, a special thanks to Michael, Arrisha and Margaret from Vitas Hospice for their kindness and care. H.R. was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife of 57 years, Dorothy Copeland. Survivors: Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and DeWayne Stewart of North Richland Hills; granddaughters, DeAnn Hubbard and husband, Dr. Greg Hubbard, of Stephenville, Stephanie Caskey of Keller and Shannon Brown and husband, Dr. Clay Brown, of Colleyville; great-grandchildren, Atalie Hubbard Wolford and Emily Hubbard, Stewart and Connor Caskey, and Cleighton Luke Brown; sister, Ruthie Keith of Keller.
