Harold Casstevens

Harold D. "Cass" Casstevens, 87, of Lillian, Texas, passed away peacefully Friday, January 20, 2012. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Harold's name to Children's Medical Center in Dallas. Mr. Casstevens was born March 25, 1924, on the pioneer family farm near Lillian. He was owner-operator of Casstevens Cash and Carry in Lillian and was known far and wide for his mesquite-smoked barbecue. People came from all over North and Central Texas to enjoy his barbecue. Survivors: Mr. Casstevens is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sarah Briscoe Casstevens; children, Sandra Jo Carter of Lillian, Leigh Garrett and husband, Bill, of Lillian and Joe Casstevens and wife, Mary, of Clifton; a large family consisting of five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
