NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Harold R. Dobkins, 86, a retired Federal Aviation Administration employee, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Presbyterian Church in North Richland Hills. Burial: Private interment in Fairview Cemetery in Gainsville. Visitation: Open viewing 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church. Harold was born Nov. 8, 1922, in Gainsville and had lived in North Richland Hills since 1965. He was an employee of the Air Traffic Division, FAA, and its predecessor, Civil Aeronautics Administration, for over 33 years at the time of his retirement in 1974. He served the flying public in numerous field facilities in many different positions in the U.S. and overseas. He was assigned to the Fort Worth regional office from 1965 until his retirement. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Harold was an avid fisherman, inactive pilot and amateur radio operator. He was a member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church of North Richland Hills. Survivors: His wife of 58 years, Treba Dobkins; sons, Steven Dobkins and Keith Dobkins; brother, Charles Dobkins; and several nieces and nephews.
