MANSFIELD -- Harold Thomas Rawdon, 83, a retired soil technician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and member of "the greatest generation," passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, in Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Mansfield or a charity of choice. Harold was born in Lone Star on Dec. 21, 1924, the son of Finters and Foye Bell Rawdon. He graduated from Mansfield High School, where he was a member of Mansfield High's first football team and the first Lone Star Farmer of the Mansfield Chapter of FFA. Mr. Rawdon was a veteran of World War II, Pacific theater of operations, serving in the U.S. Navy. Harold married Wetona Thompson in Dallas on Nov. 15, 1947. He was one of the oldest members of First United Methodist Church, Mansfield, and a member of AF & AM Mansfield Lodge #331 for over 25 years.
