FORT WORTH -- Harry Arthur Armstrong Jr., 73, loving husband, father and Paca (grandfather), passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at his home. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 Harwood Road, Bedford. Lunch will be provided afterward at the church. Interment: 2 p.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst, with a rosary beginning at 8 p.m. Harry loved spending time with his family. He was a very dedicated volunteer with the Knights of Columbus and his church family. Harry never met a person he couldn't make smile. His generosity and kindness touched many lives and he will be truly missed by many. Harry was born in Roseau, Minn., to Harry Sr. and Mary Armstrong on Nov. 14, 1936. He served honorably in the United States Air Force. He retired in 1992 after 35 years with the Federal Aviation Administration as an instructor/senior systems engineer. Harry lived in many places including Minnesota, Alaska, Iowa, Illinois, Oklahoma, Arizona and Fort Worth. There is a joy in heaven as Harry is reunited with his daughter, Monique Vann; his father, Harry Sr.; and his sister, Betty. Survivors: His wife, Mary, who has been the love of his life and best friend for 49 years; daughter, Angelique and husband, Jim Mickle; son-in-law, Brandy Vann; precious grandchildren, Brandy, Jr., Monica and Kathryn Vann and Rebecca and Kyrstin Mickle; mother, Mary Armstrong; brothers, Edward (Terry), Glenn (Juliana) and William Armstrong; many nephews and nieces; and a magnitude of friends.
