SEVIERVILLE, TENN. -- Harry Thomas Jones, 91, a former Fort Worth resident, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008. Funeral: 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall at Edge Park United Methodist Church, 5616 Crowley Road. Mr. Jones will be laid to rest, with military honors, in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: He will lie in state on Tuesday in the Parlor at Robertson Mueller Harper; his family will receive friends in the Great Room from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Edge Park United Methodist Church, in Harry's memory, is suggested. A native of New York City, Harry Thomas Jones was born Feb. 15, 1917, the son of Henry and Helen Houk Jones. He was married for 46 years to Robbie Leanor Miller Jones and for 11 years to Mary Boothe Jones. Both of his wives preceded him in death. Mr. Jones was a member of the CCC's and worked on the Norris Dam. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years and from civil service after 13 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sevierville, and a former member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. He was also an active member of the Texas Senior Cats softball team until the age of 85. In addition to his wives and parents, Harry was preceded in death by eight siblings. Survivors: Mr. Jones is survived by his daughter, the Rev. Terrye Jones McAnally and her husband, Robert G. McAnally Jr. of Sevierville, Tenn.; grandsons, Shawn Eade McAnally and his wife, Beth, Glenn Thomas McAnally and Brian Niall McAnally; great-grandchildren, Robin Kathryn-Leanor McAnally and Ethan Peter McAnally; sisters-in-law, Jane Schultz and her husband, Donald of Irving and Jackie Prickett of Fort Worth; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
