DALLAS -- Haskell Joe Daiches, 74, a native of Fort Worth, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2008. Funeral: 11 a.m. Sunday in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. Rabbi Alberto Zeilicovich and Javier Smolarz, ritual director, officiating. Memorial service: 3 p.m. in the chapel of Golden Acres, 2525 Centerville Road, Dallas. Haskell, the son of Dora and Nathan Daiches, was born June 18, 1934. He graduated from Paschal High School and attended North Texas State University. Joe was employed by PepsiCo many years and then worked for Joe Daiches Jewelers until moving to Golden Acres in Dallas. His years there were some of his happiest thanks to his many friends and their wonderful staff. He was a longtime member of Ahavath Sholom Congregation and Southside Masonic Lodge.
