Hazel Rosenbalm Lake McWilliams, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2008 in Arlington, Texas. She was born in Caddo Mills Texas on June 19, 1908.? She was the youngest of four children.? The daughter of Arthur Rosenbalm and Sallie Rosenbalm.? She enjoyed riding her pony she named "Spot" when she was a young child.? She went to Business College immediately after High School and studied Secretarial Science.? As a student in college she made the acquaintance of one her neighbors, Lewis Leo Lake.? They married and had one child they named Gene Lake who went on to became a Southern Baptist Minister.? In 1965 Lewis passed away,?Hazel?married?Earl McWilliams "Papa Mac" in 1972.? They shared?14 years?together before Papa Mac passed away.?? Hazel worked for Reserve Life Insurance Company for over 20 years.? Hazel and Lewis were members of East Grand Baptist Church for many years where Lewis served as a deacon.?? Hazel and?Earl were?active with Thomas Road Baptist?Church and Lake Highland Baptist Church.? Hazel loved people and enjoyed entertaining.? She was active in Bible Studies, Sewing clubs and loved to play 84. Hazel enjoyed crocheting and crafts and many friends and family?were given?beautiful pieces that are treasured until today. Hazel was a wonderful?Grandmother. Her?Grandchildren have many fond memories of?days at Fair Park and Six Flags. Christmas with her was always delightful.? She was an excellent?cook and her family still raves about her sugar cookies with the pecan on top and?her mouth watering?turtles.? Hazel?had four?grandchildren, Becky Glass, Rusty Lake,?Paul Lake ans?Sally Mahle.? She?has?eleven great grandchildren who call her?Little Mama, Great Mama and Gran Gran.? She?has eight great great grandchildren who?have?been so?blessed to have gotten to know her.?It has been a blessing to have?five generations?together. Hazel lived independently well beyond what most do and spent her last years well cared for.? She never complained and always?said that?the food was good, the place was clean and she?maintained a wonderful attitude. A special memory was getting to celebrate her 100th birthday with her.? When asked how old she felt at her party she replied "I think 94"!!!? We will always cherish getting to spend that time with her.? Hazel will be missed?greatly by her family and her many friends.?
