A native of Beeville, Hazel "Hassie" Adams was born Sept. 7, 1914, the daughter of Toby and Elizabeth White Adams. Growing up, she was known as a lady and a feisty redheaded West Texas cowgirl. From Big Spring, where their daughter, Jeana was born, Hassie and her true love, Wayne, moved to Fort Worth where their son, Phil was born. There, the couple created and ran a successful real estate business. Known for her sharp wit, class, desire for growth, bowling skills and bridge game, Hassie enjoyed nothing more than spending time laughing with her family. In addition to her husband and parents, Hassie was preceded in death by her daughter and grandson, Lee. Her family will like to thank many of the Vitas staff who lovingly assisted her, as well as the staff at Benbrook Rehabilitaiton Center who cared for her the past year. She now dances on Gail Mountain with Boppa, Jeana, Lee and Jesus, who wears a Stetson!
