Helen Fitzpatrick Bass-Schlueter Helen Bass-Schlueter, 86, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, April 22, 2014 after a long, tiresome battle with Alzheimer's. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the research for the cure of the devastating disease of Alzheimer's which continues to destroy brilliant minds and change the lives of every family member it touches. Service: 10:00am, Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St. in Keller. Burial will follow in Royse City Cemetery at 12:30pm. She entered and left this world the only child of J. T. and Mary Fitzpatrick. She was born October 17, 1927 and was 86 years old. Helen was born and raised in Royse City, Texas where she married Billy Francis Bass. They had two children a son Billy Francis, Bass, Jr. (who preceded her in death) and a daughter, Pam Coker. She is survived by her daughter Pam, her husband Larry W. Coker and two grandchildren Courtney Causey, her husband Larry and their new infant son, Larry Ray Causey III and Matthew Coker, and his wife Jen and their daughter Mae. After the death of Bill Bass in 1979 she married Leroy Schlueter who also preceded her in death in 1983. She left behind her dearest friends Hugh Sanders and Jo Pool as well as two of her caregivers from Silverado Senior Living that cared for her but somehow made her feel independent and dignified when she was not able to do so in her hardest times--Autumn and Taki.
