Helen Joyce Jenkins

ARLINGTON -- Helen Joyce Jenkins, 90, a resident of a local care center, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania Drive. Helen was born Nov. 28, 1922, in Fort Worth to Grover C. and Theadora Frost Winn. She was a lifelong Fort Worth resident and charter member of Hilltop Baptist Church. Helen was a passionate caregiver and enjoyed helping others. She married Sid Jenkins, Sept. 9, 1939. Helen worked for the Fort Worth ISD in the lunchroom, The Sun Garden at Northeast Mall and Wyatt's Cafeteria on Denton Highway. She loved going to church and helping with activities and the congregation. Helen loved shopping for purses and shoes. Through her illness, her compassion and kindness remained and will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sydney Jenkins. Survivors: Daughter, Carolyn Cureton; sons, Sid Jenkins, Ricky Jenkins and Jeff Jenkins; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
