HURST -- "Granny" Helen Stephens, 82, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008, at home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Charlie Holton, pastor with Rock Pointe Church, Flower Mound, officiating. Burial: Following a committal service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Helen will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Charles, in Resthaven Cemetery, Lubbock. Helen Lois Stephens was born August, 17, 1926, in Dallas. She graduated from the Dallas Forest Lane High School in 1942. She moved to Lubbock in 1959 where she reared six children. She was a member of Trinity Church where she taught Sunday School. Helen retired from the United Partial Service in 1990 and moved to North Texas. "Granny" Helen was loved by everyone who knew her. She was famous for her baking skills. Survivors: sons, Scott Felton and wife, Patty, Steve Felton, Mark Felton and wife Marla, Donald Stephens and Charles Stephens; daughters, Sherry Fisher and husband, Roger, Kathryn Felton and Cindy Coffman; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and extended family.
