Henry Edmond (H.E.) Norsworthy was born on March 6, 1934 in Bellwood, Louisiana, to the late Lennis Louise (Jones) and Joseph Edmond Norsworthy. He passed away on November 10, 2024 in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 90.
As a teenager, H.E. chose to leave Louisiana, settling in Texas. He began working for Gorbett Brothers Steel Company (later to become Trinity Industries) by literally sweeping floors. He held many positions and ultimately was elevated to plant manager. This career conquered, he then started his own steel fabrication business, Metro Tank and Steel.
H.E. finished his working career with one of his joys in life. He owned and operated The Texas Smokehouse on Main Street in Fort Worth, where his patrons enjoyed his art of perfecting the brisket. After his retirement, he even continued to work by driving a school bus when he lived in Early, Texas.
Throughout his life he enjoyed his favorite hobbies of hunting and fishing. H.E. had a larger-than-life personality and a tremendous sense of humor. He was a supportive and generous man who will be dearly missed.
H.E. was preceded in death by wife, Wanda Norsworthy; siblings, Jewell Johnson, Yvonne Payne, Marie Boyd, Juanita Ivy, Ronald Norsworthy, and bonus daughter, Sheila Blackwood.
H.E. is survived by wife, Mary Norsworthy; daughter, Debbie Marshall and husband, Todd, Euless, Texas; grandson, Bradley Higgins, II; bonus daughters Lois Brown and Linda Dennis and husband, Daryl; stepchildren, Darren Sapp and wife Holly; and Frank Sapp and wife, Susan; bonus grandchildren, Dorothy, Grady, Christy, Cody, Jessica, Austin, Daniel, Jaclyn, and Robyn. H.E. also had a significant impact on 16 other bonus children throughout his life; he also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home Chapel located at 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.
