Henry Thomas

Henry Ward Thomas, 73, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at home after a long battle with cancer.       Henry was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Mansfield to Ray and Edna Thomas. He graduated from Mansfield High School in 1956. After graduation, he went right to work for the Texas Highway Department, where he worked for 35 years as a highway inspector/engineer. During this time his work schedule was interrupted when he was drafted into the U.S. Army.        Henry was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Merle Ward Thomas, in 1998; sister, Dorothy Ray Thomas Martin, in 1973; and one brother, Harold Neal Thomas, in 1997.        Survivors: Father, Raymond "Ray" Carrell Thomas of Mansfield; brother, William Carrell Thomas and wife, Billie of Benton, La.; sister, Alice Faye Thomas Kuykendall of Mansfield; six nieces; seven nephews; nine great-nieces; three great-nephews; one great-great-nephew; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many good friends.
