Henry Thompson

Hank was born in Waco in 1925. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during World War II. While in the Navy he also took advantage of training programs and studied electrical engineering at Southern Methodist University, the University of Texas and Princeton University. A few of Hank's amazing musical accomplishments include the prestigious Country Music Hall of Fame, the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and the Song Writer Hall of Fame. Incredibly, Hank Thompson and Frank Sinatra are the only two artists to ever record and sing for seven decades. A fitting end to a country legend's carrier was Hank Thompson's last performance Oct. 8, 2007, back home in Waco.
