HURST -- Doyle Hammons, 83, born July 28, 1924, in Sanger, Denton County, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Mr. Robert Waller will officiate. Burial: 1 p.m. in Tyson Cemetery, Pilot Point. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Printing, 2702 Medlin Drive, Arlington, Texas 76015. Doyle served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy in World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was then employed by Southwest Air Equipment where he retired after 50 years. He enjoyed vacations in Colorado with his wife and family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. He was always kind and gentle with everyone he met.
