ROANOKE -- Howard A. Johnson died at his home Monday, Dec. 28, 2009. Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Lucas Family Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St., Keller. Interment: 1 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Viewing: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Lucas Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name be made to the Roanoke Food Bank. Howard was born Sept. 5, 1944, in Chicago, Ill. After high school Howard was in the U.S. Army for two years during the Vietnam era, stationed in Germany. He attended DePaul University, Chicago, and graduated with a degree in accounting. Mr. Jackson spent 37 years with IBM with transfers to Louisville, Ky., Cincinnati, Ohio, Topeka, Kan., Kansas City, Mo., and Dallas before retiring in 2004. Howard attended classes at TCCC. He was an avid bowler. He was a graduate of the Keller PD Citizens Police Academy and did volunteer work at the Keller Police Department in the warrant division. He loved the Cowboys. He will be sadly missed by all. Survivors: Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Bonnie of the home; son, Michael Johnson of Wichita, Kan., wife, Jennifer, and children, Jordan and Zackery; daughter, Lori Reiter of Holmen, Wis., husband, Jeff, and children, Aidan and Beri; sister, Trish Volkert, of Cary, Ill., husband, Ted; and numerous friends.
