BEDFORD -- Howard "Buzz" Douglas Patterson went gone to rest with Jesus, peacefully in his sleep on Friday, March 25, 2011. He was surrounded by family and friends.   Memorials: Should friends desire, donations are requested to your local non-profit hospice care. Buzz was born to Archibold and Izora Patterson (both now deceased) in Salida, Colo., on April 26, 1932. Buzz married his high school sweetheart, Alberta Dishno, and joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War rising to rank of drill sergeant. Buzz and Alberta moved their family to Bedford in 1968. Buzz was passionate about his God, family, friends, Lake Texoma and all sports but especially football. He coached Mid-Cities youth football for many years and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He spent many years working for Bell Helicopter and later Bell Helicopter International. Buzz eventually started his own company, Buzzzz Courier Service, and was successful for over 20 years. Buzz battled many illnesses, including cancer and heart issues; he rarely complained, he was a fighter and never let it get him down. He was involved in his church, Compass Christian Church in Colleyville; he made many friends there and enjoyed their company. He will be missed every day. Survivors: Buzz is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alberta; sons, Douglas Patterson, Ronald Patterson and his wife, Deborah; daughter, Cindra Patterson Wetli and her husband, Rob; Buzz enjoyed his six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Mae Shake of Anchorage, Alaska; and nieces and nephews spread all over the country.
