Hubert Ray King, 84, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials are requested to the Alzheimer's Association, 101 Summit Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Hubert Ray, the son of Mandrell and Cecil Hasley King, was born April 4, 1929, in Fort Worth. He was a graduate of Northside High School. Hubert Ray was active in Shady Oaks Baptist Church and the Alpha Sunday School Class. He was a member of Hurst Amateur Radio Club, R.A.C.E.S., Citizens Police Academy, Citizens Fire Academy and Voluteers in Action in Hurst. He and Dessa traveled to all seven continents. The Antarctic was his favorite. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bert King; and granddaughter, Bekah King. Survivors: Wife, Dessa; children, Timothy Ray King and wife, Debbie, Becky Roach and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Hannah Cunningham and husband, Phil, Sarah King; great-grandson, Clayton Cunningham; sister, Linda Crawford and husband, Johnny; and several nieces and nephews.
