SOUTHLAKE -- Former Alameda, California resident Ina Marie MacDowell, 87, died December 30, 2012, at her residence in Southlake, Texas. At her request, no service will be held. Mrs. MacDowell was born January 25, 1925, in Salt Lake City Utah, to Milton and Ina Braden before moving to Alameda in the 1940s where she met and married Donald MacDowell. Ina was an avid reader with a sharp mind for dates, details, and numbers. She retired from Wells Fargo Bank in 1984. Ina and Don loved to travel, making many trips across the country and overseas. They were married for 56 years before Don's passing in February 2002. In 2008, Ina moved to Texas to be closer to her family. Ina treasured the moments she spent with her four great-grandchildren, with a fifth on the way. Ina will be fondly remembered by all of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Preceding Ina in death were her parents, Ina and Milton Braden, siblings Joan Thompson of Medford, Oregon, and Jerry Braden of Castro Valley, along with relatives in Oakland, Redding, and Utah. She is survived by her children, Gary MacDowell of Colleyville, TX and Jan Lanzit of Reston, VA, their spouses, Mary and Kevin, and her four married granddaughters: Shannon, Allison, Stevie, and Lindsey.
