Irvin Price

Irvin Price (Junior) 71, of Dallas, Texas, beloved father, brother, uncle and cousin transitioned of October 6, 2024. Irvin was born in Brooklyn, New York to Syble Willmetter Farrow. 

Irvin lived most of his early and teen years in Roduco, North Carolina with his grandparents, John Amos and Necie Farrow. The farm life that he was exposed to helped to instill traits of focused work ethics. There was continual family connections among his grandparents thirteen children with numerous cousins. He enjoyed a fervent spiritual example fostered by his grandparents. He grasped the importance of God in his life and built on the inspiring legacy of his grandparents and many others in our family and community.

Irvin successfully graduated from Gates High school in Gatesville, North Carolina, along with many cousins and friends. After graduation, Irvin would return to Brooklyn, New York to begin his transition into employment, marriage and start of fatherhood. 

Irvin was able to transfer well learned skills enabling him to pursue meaningful and noteworthy employment. In New Jersey he started a company: Irvin Price Computer Group. 

Irvin would go on to apply and grow his technical skills with the Blue Cross/ Blue Shield Insurance Company for more than 20 years. Irvin demonstrated his worthy contributions as a dependable team collaborator in the capacities of: Senior Director- Application Reliability Engineering and Support; Enterprise Technology Services; and Product Engineering.

Irvin faithfully attended the Potter’s House Worship Center for over 15 years. He took his service to heart as he served in a number of areas. He was a volunteer, Greeter, Sales and Merchandise, and participated in the intercessory prayer ministry. Here he grew close to be distinguished as brother – by another-mother. These brothers proved to be sincerely true friends as they shared and enjoyed many life experiences together. Surely football was one of those activities, since Irvin would find the interruption of one of his Cowboys’ games a major intrusion. (smile)

Irvin leaves a legacy of beautiful memories that will live in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. Irvin leaves to cherish his memories three sons: Nicholaus Price, Joshua Price, and Irvin Price Jr. These sons and their partners gifted Irvin with beautiful and healthy grandchildren: Nicholas’ children - Neavah, Loyalty, Freedom, Chance, and Gabriel; Joshua’s child-Trinity; and Irvin Jr. (wife –T’Keyah) Children- Taliyah, Tylasja, and Jaylon. His sisters- Velmar Byrd of New Britain, Connecticut; and Terry Henry of Brooklyn, New York; His Nieces, Jennifer Burks and Rashida Henry; and numerous very remarkably close cousins. We fondly add to our family -Brother Lamar Shaw, brother by another mother and a long-time true friend to Irvin. Irvin was preceeded in death by his mother – Syble Willmetter Farrow.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home located at 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Funeral Services will be held at the Potter's House Church beginning with an additional visitation hour from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 with funeral service beginning at 11:00 A.M.
