FORT WORTH -- Irving Bodzy, 82, died suddenly Saturday morning, Oct. 13, 2007. Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday in the Barnett Sanctuary of Congregation Ahavath Sholom, 4050 S. Hulen St. Rabbi Alberto "Baruch" Zeilicovich will officiate. Burial: Following committal prayers, Irving will be laid to rest in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. For religious reasons, Mr. Bodzy will not lie in state. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to Congregation Ahavath Sholom or to a charity of one's choice, in memory of Irving, would be appreciated. A native and life resident of Fort Worth, Irving was born July 14, 1925, the son of Abram and Helen Bodzy. He was a graduate of R.L. Paschal High school. Irving owned and operated S&M Food Store with his brothers-in-law, Sam and Meyer Blinderman, who preceded him in death. He was a longtime member of Congregation Ahavath Sholom, B'nai B'rith and the Martin Hochster Jewish War Veterans Post 755. Survivors: His wife, Bessie Blinderman Bodzy of Fort Worth; children, Allen Bodzy and his wife, Becca, David Bodzy and his wife, Debbie and Lee Ann Bodzy Roseman and her husband, Jim, all of Dallas; grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jacquelyn, Jason, Allyson and Michael; sister, Ann Chodorow of Waco; and several nieces and nephews.
