Ismael "Smiley" Aguirre

EULESS -- Ismael "Smiley" Aguirre, 61, went to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday, March 13, 2014, surrounded by his family. Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi, Grapevine. Interment: Grapevine Cemetery: Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine. Smiley was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on June 29, 1952, to Mary G. Calvert. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an accomplished fisherman and avid tennis player. He enjoyed bringing happiness to many through his love of cooking and his love for his dogs. Smiley was preceded in death by his father, Arthur V. Aguirre, and his brother, Arthur V. Aguirre Jr. Survivors: Daughter, Mary E. Aguirre; mother, Mary Calvert; sisters, Elizabeth A. Ledesma and husband, Edward, and Mary Esther Headley; and many other loving family members and friends.
