Rev.J.D. Ferguson, 84, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 24, 2008 from his home in Burleson. We know as always J.D. answered God's calling, but all whom he left behind already miss his presence. J.D. was a loving husband, father, grandfather andgreat grandfather as well as a good friend and neighbor to those fortunate to know him. He shared his life and love for 64 years with wife Norma Jo. As a Missionary Baptist Minister, he faithfully preached the Gospel for 40 years in many small churches in Texas. Services will be held at Retta Baptist Church in Rendon, Texas on Monday, July 28th at 10:00 A.M.. Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, July 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Lucas Blessing Funeral Home in Burleson. J.D. was born July 16, 1924, in Flippin, Arkansas, the eldest of ten children and is survived by his wife, Norma Jo Ferguson of Burleson; children, James Ferguson, and his wife, Claire, of Mansfield, Alice Nelson, and her husband, Keith, of Deer Park, Cindy Westbury, of Baytown, Grady Ferguson, and his wife, Marsha, of Channelview; siblings, William (Slim) and Margaret, of Houston, Birdie Blankenship, of Houston, Burl and Faye Ferguson, of Nacogdoches, Ira (Shorty) and Peggy Ferguson, of Springdale, Arkansas, Bobby and Bettie Ferguson, of Houston, Billy and Ruth Ferguson, of Beckville, Eugene and Ruth Richards, of Houston, grandchildren, Beau and Jessica Ferguson, Coby and Brian Welch, Lee and Rachael McKinney, Frank and Tracy McKinney, James Westbury Jr., Stacey Westbury, Tracie Westbury, Andrea Ferguson, James and Joni Ferguson; extended family and numerous friends who were greatly touched by the life he led.
