ARLINGTON -- Jack Conwisar, 86, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, July 8, 2009, at his residence. Service: Military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn., is suggested. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Oct. 18, 1922, Jack was the son of Phillip and Sonia Bogoslofsky Conwisar. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans. His professional career was that of a sheet metal worker and he was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers' Union, Local No. 28. Survivors: In addition to his wife of 63 years, Adele Weiss Conwisar, Jack is survived by his daughters, Robin Linda Trainer and Diane Ellen Gallichio; grandchildren, Randi Beth Golemme, Jennifer Lind Cohen, Perry Lynn Davis and David Scott Gallichio; three great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Conwisar; sister, Adeline Schiffman; and many nieces and nephews.
