HURST -- Jack William Thompson, 67, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Searcy, Ark. A native of Charleston, Mo., Jack was born Feb. 14, 1942, to C.E. and Audrey Browning Thompson. He was a Mid-Cities resident from 1971 until 2004, when he retired from Jack Thompson Co. to Searcy, Ark. Jack was a member of Riverside Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed painting and genealogy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and grandson, Hunter William Thompson. "I have made my peace with God and I will see you in a better place. We have laughted together, cried together and enjoyed the close family ties that we each shared. I have formed memories with you; I have loved you with all that I was able during my time with you. I have no regrets; each of you brought something to my life that made me who I was. Thank you for the joy that you have brought me." Survivors: Son, Jeff and his wife, Marisa; granddaughter, Reagan Paige Thompson; best friend and former wife, Sherrye Thompson; sisters, Virginia Wright and Mary Lou Rutherford; extended family; and friends.
