Jackie Kirkland

KELLER -- Jackie D. "Papa" Kirkland passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, surrounded by his family and friends at the age of 70 after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Keller.    Jack was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Fort Worth. He was a carpenter by trade. His passion was training race horses. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Meda Kirkland, and brother, Lloyd Kirkland.   Survivors: His wife of 53 years, Carol; daughters, Terri and husband, Bob McKinnon, of Decatur, Sandy and husband, John Hensley, of Jacksboro and Sherri and husband, Dale Mason, of Colleyville; granddaughters, Amy Kirkland, Melissa Mason Walters and Brittany McKinnon Unkart; grandsons, Trey McKinnon, Ryan Dale Mason, Justin Hensley; great-granddaughters, Saylor Grace Walters, Addison Mae Kirkland and Jayci Kae McKinnon; great-grandsons, Reece and Ramsey Hensley; sisters, Mildred Delancy and Sue Shafer; brother, D.R. "Bud" Kirkland; a number of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends; and his beloved pets, Missy and Lola.
