Mr. Clark was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Fordyce, Ark., to Urban and Anna Clay Clark. He always had something humorous to say to make you smile, something motivating to inspire you. Shortly after his graduation from Arkansas A&M, he met the love of his life, Julia Virginia Holland, at a hometown basketball game in Glendale, Ark. He walked her home that night and after three months of those walks, he married her in 1941. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage before her passing on July 5, 2007. He retired as superintendent of schools in Ranger before retiring after 36 years of service in public school education. He was a loyal Lions Club member for 29 years. He was also a World War II veteran. He built his home and community, founded deeply in the love for Jesus and lived by the "glass is half full" mentality.
