James Harper

HURST -- James Leo Harper 84, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Lucas Funeral Chapel in Hurst. A private burial in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park will follow. Visitation prior to service. James, the son of Thomas and Mary Wagner Harper, was born August 26, 1926 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. After many years of service as a bartender, he retired from the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth in 1991. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia in 2008. Survivors: son, Richard L. Harper; step-children, David Ludwig and wife, Penny, Linda Lester and husband, Jack, Lillian Cairns and husband, Ray, Gloria Vitiello and husband, Richard; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Arnold.
