BEDFORD -- James Alan Maxwell, 66, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010. Funeral: 4 p.m. Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church. Interment: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City, Okla. Visitation: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. James, a native of Oklahoma City, was born Aug. 24, 1944, to Holston Davis and Mildred Adelle Powell Maxwell. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army from January 1961 to December 1963. Following his military service, he became a journeyman electrician in 1969 and later a master electrician. He worked at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City for a number of years. Since 1985, he had worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Maxwell. Survivors: Wife, Marie Maxwell of Bedford; his children, Jennifer Laudie of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Jamie Savala of Marlow, Okla., and Kimberly Spurlock and husband, Jack, of Duncan, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; brother, Bill Maxwell of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Marie's children, Jason Jordan of Fort Worth and Lisa Stanford and husband, Steven, of Red Oak.
