James Owen

HURST -- Jim Owen, 59, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at a local hospital. Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shady Oaks Baptist Church, 1336 Cavender Drive in Hurst, the Rev. Ronny Marriott officiating. Interment: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Burkburnett. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Jim was a very caring and loving husband, father and Paw Paw. He loved coaching his sons as they grew up playing ball. Jim also enjoyed being with his two grandsons as much as possible. His passion was sports and playing golf. He loved the Lord, his Savior. Jim's best moments were spent with wife and family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Duke and Virginia Owen. Survivors: His wife of 40 years and high school sweetheart, Marie; sons, Craig and his wife, Jessica and B.J. Owen; brother, Gary and his wife, Anita; grandsons, Jackson and Garrett James Owen along with numerous nieces and nephews.
