Huff-Slay Funeral Home Pilot Point, Texas James Rudolph Phillips, 62 of Decatur, TX. passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 07, 2012. James was born May 11, 1949 to Betty Lois Taylor and Rudolph Neely Phillips in Whitewright, TX. He was a Vietnam veteran having served his country in the United States Army. James married Donna Lynn Marti on September 5, 2003. James enjoyed cooking, gardening, was an avid fisherman, and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed animals and adopted any stray that came by his home. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Huff / Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point, Texas. A funeral service for James will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Tioga with Reverend Charles Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Tioga Cemetery in Tioga, Texas. James is survived by his mother, Betty Knight of Tioga; his wife Donna of Decatur; daughter, Aydrehauna Park of Rockwall; sons, Shawn Phillips of Dallas; Jason Phillips of Plano; Jeremy Phillips of Dallas; and step-son, Aaron Crafton of Decatur, Tx.; three grandchildren, Ali and Alec Park and Lillianna Phillips. James was preceded in death by his father Rudolph Neely Phillips. Services are under the direction of Huff / Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point, Texas.
