James Seger

James "Jim" Walter Seger passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009, in Arlington.        Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield. Visitations: 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Blessing Funeral Home.        James was born May 10, 1932, in St. Louis, Mo. He was the son of D.D. and Mary Seger. At age 12, James and his family moved to Lake Worth for three years, and then moved to McKinney where he finished high school.        James attended Baylor University and then served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he met his wife and married in July 1955. Moving to Fort Worth in 1956 he was employed by A.B. Culbertson Trust Co.        James was an avid golfer and played as a professional on the Heartland Senior Tour during the late 1980s and early '90s.        Survivors: His loving wife of 54 years, Barbara; children, James D. Seger and wife, Belinda, Jami D. Pitts and husband, Gary, Jeffrey D. Seger and wife, Andrea; and grandchildren, John, Chad, Kevin and Allyson.
