James (Jim) B. Watkins, Sr. died peacefully at his home in Mineral Wells surrounded by his loving family at his bedside. Jim's courageous battle with Alzheimer's ended May 16, 2010.Jim was a deacon of the Baptist faith, a Sunday School teacher and a member of Marystown Baptist Church in Burleson. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His greatest enjoyment was being with his family. Jim proudly served his country in the Navy and was a World War II Veteran. Jim was an avid gardener and a charter member of the Fort Worth Model T Club. He was a Model T and Henry Ford enthusiast. His Model T Museum had been featured on all four local television stations. He was always delighted to share his knowledge of the Model T. Jim and Nadean had many, many visitors at his museum from across the US and abroad, including Holland, France, Australia and England. Survivors: Beloved wife of 63 years, Nadean Watkins; sons, Jimmy Watkins, Jr. and wife, Zaneta of Burleson, Jerry Watkins and wife, Sharon of Corpus Christi; daughter, Janice Brown and husband Steve, of Mineral Wells; selected daughter, Holly Ann and family; six wonderful grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of which dearly loved their "Pop"; brothers, Tommy Watkins and wife, Dana, of Beaumont, Floyd Watkins and Sheri, of Burleson; numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
